Thursday 08 Feb 24 welcomed the return of the highly anticipated Armagh 5K International Road Race. The event is organised by Armagh Athletics Club and attracts elite athletes from all over the world to this fast course around The Mall.

District Schools XC Success for Newcastle runners & Parkrun PBs.
Post Primary District Cross Country
As we near the end of January, the school’s cross country season gets underway. With Districts taking place on Thursday at Delamont, a large number of the Newcastle junior squads swapped their yellow and red vests for their school colours and lined up against each other in their respective races. With St.Malachy’s High School, Shimna Integrated College, St.Louis Grammar School, Down High, St.Patrick’s Grammar School, Our Lady’s Grammar School and Assumption Grammar School all selecting Newcastle AC runners to represent their Cross Country Squads.
Win for Newcastle AC at NI and Ulster Intermediate XC Championships
On Sunday 28 January, Newcastle AC had a hugely successful day at the Billy Neill Playing Fields. For the fourth time in the club’s history and third time in 10 years the Intermediate Men’s team won the overall team prize to bring the trophy back to Newcastle, with Robbie Hagen leading the race most of the way holding on for a Silver Medal, Tom Crudgington finished an excellent fourth, with Niall Goodman just making the top 10 in 10th place followed closely by Ethan McMullan in 11th.
