Eve sets the bar for 2024 Season At Indoors

Eve McNamara has made a phenomenal start to track and field season, representing the club at UUJ Indoors Throws and Jumps on Saturday.

With her focus being very much on the up coming Post Primary Ulster Cross Country, she used this event to regain the feel for the two disciplines as she begins to prepare to leave the muck and gutters behind and return to multi-events.

Eve took part in the High Jump, Long Jump and Shot Putt at U14 level. She used her performance to set a baseline for the season ahead. In doing so she, took second place in the Long Jump missing out by 2cm on first place for a jump of 3.93m. At High Jump she secured a jump of 1.26m to earn third place. She also took forth place in the Shot, throwing 7.28m.

A strong baseline set for the season ahead for this exceptionally talented Multi-Eventer.

Castlewellan Parkrun

Huge Congratulations to Erin Easton securing a Parkrun PB of 25.01 on Saturday. Some brilliant running from Emily Kerr and Michael Lynch, snapped on each others heels in the final stretch. Ronan Grant is maintaining a consistent effort over 5k and chipping away for another SB this week.

Also it was a very special occasion for one of our juniors as Charlotte Kerr, on her 5th birthday, choose to run her 24th parkrun.

Michael sticks close to Emily as they head for a sub 23 parkrun.
