NAC/MAC and Friends – Charity Run – Saturday 19th December 2015

On a very busy day in the running calendar, 47 athletes arrived in Castlewellan for the now traditional pre-Christmas night out Charity run – an ideal opportunity to get the legs warmed up for the inevitable dancing and general misbehaving that would follow later on that night. 47 started and 47 finished, but in now accepted fashion two did their own thing! Grainne and Patricia started out with the main field before finding a more interesting path; this led to a deviation off route, a bit of a nature trek, some impromptu bird watching before ambling back to the point from whence they came. After all of that they were home first by a country mile!!! The times below are accurate to a point as the timekeeper was suffering from a viral infection and a little under the weather.  Please do not hesitate to let him know if there are any inaccuracies and he guarantees to do absolutely nothing about it as this was a bit of good hearted Christmas fun.  If you ran faster you know it so well done!!! Club session 30th June 2015

Big Ron Manager makes sure he wins the gold medal

There was a healthy turn out of athletes for club training session, the first since the Hill and Dale series ended on Friday 26 June. This week was a case of ‘and now for something completely different’ as athletes were paired off in a team time trial.  The format was simple; each athlete runs two laps of the lake (once clockwise and once anti-clockwise starting at the far end and the fastest combined times wins!).  Continue reading
