Newcastle Athletics Clubs 12 year old Eve Kenneally recently qualified at the Northern Ireland and Ulster Cross Country trials to run for the County Down team in the Under 14 all Ireland  Championship which took place on Sunday.  The races held in Santry Park, Dublin saw a strong field of some 160 under 14 girls from all over Ireland taking part.  Eve, the only Newcastle Junior Club member to take part on the day finished 56th overall , the 3rd County Down runner to finish, with the County taking 7th place.
