It has been agreed by the committee to have our Christmas Club party night on Friday 22 December in the Burrendale Hotel at 7pm which is one of their party nights.
The cost is £25 pp – non refundable (the club will subsidise the remainder).

Maisie makes it 2 in a row at Ardglass

It was very much de ja vu at Ardglass on Wednesday evening as Maisie McVeigh toed the line of the Ardglass Festival 5k for the 2nd consecutive year. It has been a jammed packed season for the eldest of the McVeigh’s, as each discipline has run consecutively straight into the next without much of a break. The welcomed break at the start of July allowed the youngster to reset, relax and embrace a much needed retreat from the spotlight before jumping back in two feet first. Continue reading

Hill and Dale Newcastle AC round up

On Friday evening the 2023 Hill and Dale series came to a close at the foot of Northern Ireland’s largest mountain. Race 10 at Drinnahilly is always a favourite. Maybe it’s because the terrain returns to mostly forest trails or maybe, just maybe it’s because it is the only race on a Friday night followed by a fresh cold one or few in O’Hares to toast the end of an epic 3 months of achievements. Gold Rush for Fiachna

As we embraced a day of 13 hours worth of sunshine, there was no better place to be than trackside at Mary Peters Track for the Lagan Valley Fab 5 Series, Event 4.
The Newcastle AC juniors have made such a positive impact on this series and gracing both track and field events with pride donned in yellow and red. Yet again Lagan Valley AC had an agreement with the Weather Gods and without a drop of rain incoming, the night got off to a prompt start at 6.30pm.

Newcastle AC Junior Athletes celebrate success at McGrady XC Series

Earlier in the year, junior members from Burren AC, East Down AC, Murlough AC, Dromore AC and Newcastle AC all took part in four races in Dromore, Delamont and two very different and equally as challenging routes in Tollymore. Each event expertly hosted by one of the participating clubs, facilitating the opportunity for many amazing battles out on course and creating life-long memories for participants, parents and spectators.
