The club are planning on holding a 2 session navigational course:
Session 1:
– evening session to explain how to take bearing etc. and plot the course for a navigation course at the weekend.
– Plot Grid Reference
– Explain contours
– Work out compass bearing
– Explain route choice

Session 2:
– Practical session
– Find points plotted during theory
– Follow compass bearing

Dates are:

Monday 14th March – 8:00 pm Newcastle Scout Hall for theory
Saturday 19th March – 8.30 am Tollymore car park 2 hour navigation exercise in white plains area

Every one taking part will require a Mourne Harvey Map and Silva type compass
