British Transplant Games 2011

Newcastle AC athlete, Ian Brannigan, will be competing at the British Transplant Games on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th August.

The Belfast Telegraph Donor Run takes place on the Saturday 6th of August in Ormeau Park, Belfast. The aim is to help raise the profile of Organ Donation.

World Transplant Games 2011

Three GOLD medals for Ian : 1500m(4:58:91), 800m(2:27:75) and 5000m(20:27).

The World Transplant Games are currently taking place in Goteborg, Sweden. Newcastle AC athlete, Ian Brannigan, will be competing on Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd June.  Keep up-to-date with events here.

Ian will also be competing at the Transplant Sport(UK) Games in Belfast in August. There will be a Belfast Telegraph Donor Run on Saturday 6th August. Entries can be made online here.

British Transplant Games, Belfast 2011

Newcastle AC athlete, Ian Brannigan will be taking part in the Westfield Health British Transplant Games in August 2011, an annual event organised by the charity Transplant Sport UK. The Games, now into their 34th year, are the biggest event in TSUK’s calendar, and it is expected that around 800 transplant athletes plus their supporters will travel from across the UK to take part in a variety of sports and social events featured during the four day event.  Keep up to date with The Games as updates will be posted here.  Read more details about The Games and how to become a donor in this Press Release.

3 Gold Medals for Ian Brannigan

Newcastle AC’s Ian Brannigan recently represented Northern Ireland at the 33rd annual British Transplant Games at the University of Bath and won 3 Gold medals for middle distance running.

The British Transplant Games were first held in Portsmouth in 1978 and are organised by Transplant Sport UK. This year’s games in Bath attracted 800 athletes and 1800 supporters from throughout the UK. The aim of the games is to raise the awareness of the ongoing need for organ donation and to highlight the benefits of transplantation through sport. Continue reading
