Nestled between Castlewellan Forest Park and the Dromara Mountains in stunning valley surroundings, this 5 mile road race offers elite athletes, age group competitors and fitness runners a different, challenging course in Leitrim’s unique, scenic and small village setting. This is a perfect race for anyone in marathon preparation; 10k road race mode; gearing up for the Hill and Dale race series or enjoying running for fitness.
The fun run offers an opportunity for the whole family to get out and enjoy the challenge of completing the village route, taking in the well known Leitrim mile.
The 2 mile Fun Run takes place at 11:00am. Registration is on the day. Fun run entry fee: Under 7 year old – Free, £3 for participants aged 7 and over. £10 for family (4 members or more).
The 5 mile race takes place at 12 noon.

Juniors over 15 and under 18 who wish to compete in 5 mile race need to register on day of race as a parent/guardian signature will be required.
HOT FOOD and refreshments served after the race. Secure changing/shower facilities and FREE parking available.

Directions to Leitrim:
From Belfast: Travel A24 to Clough, via Ballynahinch, then right turn onto A25 to Castlewellan/ OR Travel M1 Southbound, exit at Sprucefield roundabout, take 2nd exit onto A1, turn off at Hillsborough onto Dromara Road for Dromara, travel through Dromara village and Finnis, take left turn on Slievenaboley Road and continue on to Dromara Road into Leitrim.
From Castlewellan: From large roundabout at bottom of town take 2nd exit onto A50/Bann Road (towards Banbridge) and first take right on Leitrim Road. Continue on to Leitrim.
From Banbridge: Travel A50/Castlewellan Road, turn right onto A50/Katesbridge Road (towards Castlewellan), take left turn onto Leitrim Road. Continue into Leitrim.
